Several film festivals throughout the year provide opportunities to see lesser known works. The local music culture really shines as free concerts throughout Colorado Springs provide nearly a hundred opportunities to hear live Jazz, The Blues, Rock & Roll and more in parks and other outdoor venues. At the heart of the family arts scene is the Kennedy center imagination celebration, providing year round arts and educational programs for the young and young at heart.
Area Attractions & Recreations
Pikes Peak Cog Rail Way will take you up to an elevation of 14,110 feet at the top of Pikes Peak. And the Cave of The Winds will descend you into the colorful depths of Colorado a sight you must see.. Garden of the Gods Park is very popular for hiking, technical rock climbing, road and mountain biking, horseback riding and simply sightseeing and picnicking. It attracts more than two million visitors a year and is the city’s most visited park. Seven Falls and Helen Hunt Falls are both minutes from downtown and a great place to just take a drive. The North Pole mountain amusement park and Santa’s Work Shop are just up the mountain on I-24 in Woodland Park. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is also a wonderful place to spend the day, to be enjoyed year round with seasonal activities and events that are planned.
